Hayesville man charged with Intent to Kill after assault on female

The following press release has been issued by Clay County Sheriff's Office.  All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. 

Clay County Sheriff Vic Davis said on Saturday 4/23/2016, Clay County Sheriff’s deputies responded to 66 George Sorrels Road in Hayesville  in reference to a disturbance.


Upon arrival, they encountered a female who had obvious lacerations to her body and was bleeding heavily.  They also encountered a male who sustained lacerations to his hand.  Deputies secured the scene so that EMS could tend to the injured.  Both the male and the female where flown out by helicopter to have their injuries treated.

Sheriff’s investigators, as well as investigators with the State Bureau of Investigations (SBI), responded to the scene to collect evidence and further process the crime scene.

Sheriff Davis said on Monday, April 25, 2016, investigators have charged Alejandro Huerta Aguilar with Felony B&E, Felony theft of a Firearm, and two counts of Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill Inflicting Serious Injury.  He is currently being held at the Clay County Detention Center under a $200,000 secured bond.  His next court date is May 9
th.

This incident is still under investigation. At the time of this press release, the female had been released from the hospital.
