The following press release has been issued by Clay County Sheriff's Office. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
Sheriff Davis said on Monday, November 7, 2016, Eric Michael Stephens was arrested on several outstanding warrants. He is charged with Failing to Appear on Communicating Threats, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Driving While License Revoked, Felony Possession of Stolen Motor Vehicle, Resist Public Officer, Second Degree Trespass, Possession of Schedule II Controlled Substance, Possession of Schedule VI Controlled Substance, and another charge of Possession of Paraphernalia. Additional charges are pending.
Sheriff Davis said Clay County Sheriff Deputies have been following up on all tips in reference to Stephens' whereabouts. On Monday, Deputies were again following up on a tip and were able to successfully apprehend him.
After his arrest, Clay County Sheriff’s Investigators executed a search warrant at the residence. Controlled substances were seized and stolen property was recovered.
As of press time Sheriff Davis said Stephens is currently being held in the Clay County Detention Center on no bond.
