Missing Towns County Teen Found Safe

The following press release has been issued by Towns County Sheriff's Office.

​On Wednesday, September 7, 2016, after an extensive three day search and investigation, acting on a tip provided by a Blue Ridge Mountain EMC crew working in the area of Brasstown Creek Road, Sheriff Clinton, along with deputies and a GBI agent, located Cami Jo Adams, age 16 of Young Harris, GA. She was unharmed and is now safe.

Sheriff Chris Clinton would like to express sincere thanks to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Georgia State Patrol Aviation Unit, Union County Sheriff’s Office, Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, Clay County, NC Sheriff's Office, Appalachian Drug Enforcement Office, Georgia Defense Force, and the Department of Natural Resources Law Enforcement Unit for their assistance to the Towns County Sheriff’s Office in this investigation.

​A special thank you goes to all our staff at the Towns County Sheriff's Office, many of whom came in on their scheduled days off, stayed over, or simply went the extra mile to see this through, as well as all those who donated food and drinks for our ground crew and all those who kept Cami and the effort to find her in their prayers.
